"Many design students perceive the construction of the final solution to a design problem as being the total focus of the design process. They commence solving the problem by constructing their final prototype first, justifying their concept later. Ideally, the construction of a final solution should never be commenced until after the preparation and research phases have been completed. This should not suggest however, that appropriate experimental and concept models couldn’t be constructed as part of the preparation and research phases. These models can be used to 'test' and 'evaluate' ideas as they evolve." (Barlow,J, 2016)
The Solution generation phase is the upmost important. it will determine if the box has been made well. designing a successful concept will help establish key features and measurements. Each attempt will define the design constraints and look at methods of improvement. through this screening the most appropriate design will be selected.
